With punchy lyrical songs and sneak-peek promos, fans are now really inquisitive to receive this much waited 49th movie of Ilaya Thalapathy. One is eager to see Vijay in the hands of debutant director Babu Sivan; and mainly to watch our hero romancing the sizzling Anushka for the first time! Latest reports say that Vettaikkaran’s overseas rights has been taken up by a new Singapore-based distribution company on a huge budget basis. It is a no wonder for a Vijay’s movie, as the star is second best after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on the international market scenario. Come December and Vettaikkaran’s promotional activities will take off on full swing. For the time being let’s wait for the movie’s magic to take over from December 18th.

The suit filed against Vijay by a Chennai resident Karthikeyan was dismissed by the High Court of Madras, yesterday. Karthikeyan had filed a petition alleging that the Housing Board’s allotment of about four grounds of land to Vijay was illegal. The petitioner contended that the land originally belonged to his father but the Housing Board took over the land to construct a housing colony. Since the land was not used for the intended purpose he claimed the property back. The Housing Board replied to the above contention of the petitioner stating that Vijay had been allotted the land to compensate the loss he incurred on making an auction bid. The disputed land was allotted to Vijay as the land that he bought in the Housing Board auction could not be utilized for building purposes. Following this, the court dismissed the suit.

Malayalam filmmaker Siddique, a synonym with movies laced with humour (‘Friends’, ‘Engal Anna’, ‘Sadhu Mirandaa’) has confirmed that he would direct Vijay’s next. He however said “it is Vijay who has to decide as to when the film would go on floors”.

“I had narrated the storyline of my forthcoming Malayalam movie ‘Bodyguard’ to Vijay. It is a blend of comedy and action. Vijay, who was mightily impressed by the knot, assured me that he would act in the Tamil version,” he said.

Stating that work for the Vijay starrer would start only after the release of the Malayalam venture, Siddique said: “He (Vijay) is currently busy with his prior commitments. Hence, it was him who has to finalise the commencing date of the project.”

On his working style, Siddique said: “I would ensure that there is no separate comedy track in my films. Because I believe that humour should coexist with screenplay and not as a separate entity.”
